Gwinnett Country Animal Control
If you see a pet running loose, please post to the announce list so the owner can be aware of the issue. If you’re at all concerned, you can call 770-513-5700 and they will try to get an officer out here to pick it up (this is the non-emergency number as the normal animal control number is often closed or is not able to dispatch catchers).
Excerpt from the Gwinnett County Ordinances Sec. 10-29. – Restraint.
(b) A dog is considered not under restraint or control when it is running at large, whether wearing a collar and tag or not.

The Gwinnett County Occupation Tax and Business Regulation Ordinance document
Found in Article IX, page 103 it explains what a solicitor can or can’t do. To summarize: there is a solicitors permit one can obtain to legally solicit door to door, but it doesn’t seem to explicitly state that it is required. There is also a list of prohibited activities for a solicitor listed on page 108.
The easiest way to prevent solicitors from bothering you is to put up a no solicitation sign by your door. Since you’re likely dealing with small businesses that operate more in the grey area of following solicitation laws (either ignoring it or not knowing it), it’s probably easier to set up the sign at your home than asking for their permits.

Fire Safety
From a prior neighbor: We had the Gwinett Community Educators come out to our home to inspect and advise us on fire safety in our home.
They installed fire alarms, created an evacuation route and plan. They brought up some points we had never considered. It was VERY informative. We suggest every home owner do this.
Please contact :
Bridgeton Butynski at 678-518-4885 or 678-323-9621 she us the Community Educator
If you would like for the Fire Department to do a Home Safety Survey at your home, please call 678-518-4845 or email fire [email protected]
